A few accommodation notes to make your stay as easy as possible. We will be staying at the Armada Hotel and encourage guests to book there if they choose. We've also included nearby options to suit different budgets and preferences, but we still recommend staying as close to the venue as you can. Most of the accommodation options below will allow you to book in advance and pay closer to the date or cancel/modify if needed, so the sooner you book, the better!

For those who want to be close to all of the festivities, we recommend staying on-site at the hotel. You can book your room on their website (linked below) or by calling the hotel (+353) 065-707-9000. We do have some classic rooms blocked both nights for our guests. That said, the hotel is boutique and very popular for local and international guests. If you wait to book, we can't guarantee room block pricing or room availability. While they will take card information upon booking, you will not be charged until check-in or departure at the hotel, and you can cancel up to 48-hours in advance if circumstances change. If you would like to be included in the room block, please reach out to reservations@armadahotel.com once you've booked your room and let them know that you are part of our wedding. They will adjust your rate accordingly. The reservations team is incredibly helpful and can also answer any other questions you might have in the booking process or during your stay!

We recommend locking in flights in advance (2-6 months is the prime booking window), especially if you're planning to extend your stay and explore before or after the wedding weekend.

International Travel

The Best Way In: Fly to Shannon (SNN)Shannon Airport is your ideal arrival point — it's about 45 minutes drive to Spanish Point, small and easy to navigate. From the East Coast, Aer Lingus and Delta both fly direct from JFK, and Aer Lingus flies year-round from Boston. From the West Coast and other US cities, most routes will connect through a hub like JFK, Chicago, or Boston before the transatlantic leg.

If You're Flying into Dublin (DUB)Dublin gives you more airline options and flexibility.The tradeoff is an additional 3–3.5 hour drive west to Clare, but it's a beautiful one and a great introduction to the country. Some guests may also want to spend a night or two in Dublin before or after, especially if it's your first time in Ireland!

Group Flight Rates

If you're coordinating travel with family or friends, both Aer Lingus and Delta offer group pricing that's worth looking into. Aer Lingus offers group rates for parties of 7 or more. You can request a quote directly through their Groups department at aerlingus.com, which will get you a dedicated contact and access to their lowest available fare for the group. Delta offers group rates for 10 or more passengers traveling on the same flight. Their Group Specialists can build a custom itinerary and provide competitive pricing — contact them directly or submit a request at delta.com/group-travel. Delta flights connect to Shannon via JFK, making this a practical option for East Coast guests and those routing through New York.

Local Travel

Once You Land: Getting to Spanish Point We strongly recommend renting a car. County Clare is rural, and having your own car is the best way to experience it and to make the most of your time before and after the wedding. Another important thing to remember about driving in Ireland: You'll be on the left side of the road!

If you'd prefer not to rent a car, we recommend booking a private transfer in advance. A few reliable services that cover this route:Shannon Transfers: Meet-and-greet service, fixed pricing, and a range of vehicle sizes. Good for solo travelers or couples.A2B Cabs: Vehicles ranging from 4 to 14 passengers, making them a great option for families or groups flying in together.Easy Transfer: Fixed pricing, your driver will wait if your flight is delayed, and they have experience with this route from Shannon.

Beautiful sandy beach right by the Armada Hotel. Perfect for walks or swimming (if you can brave the cold water!). Named after the Spanish Armada shipwrecks of 1588.

Expertly guided cycling tours for up to six people are available right by the Armada Hotel, offering a different way to explore the landscape. Perfect for all skill levels with bikes and gear provided.

~15 mins away from the hotel. Lahinch Golf Club is home to two links courses. The Old Course is a bucket list round and consistently rated as a top course in Ireland. We highly recommend booking tee times well in advance as spots fill up fast, especially in late May. The Castle Course is the more accessible option and tee times are much easier to come by.

~30 mins away from the hotel. One of Ireland's most iconic natural wonders, with dramatic 200m drops straight into the Atlantic.

Cliffs of Moher

~30 mins away from the hotel. Three rugged, windswept islands known for their dramatic limestone landscapes and stone forts. The easiest way to get there is the Doolin Ferry.

Aran Islands

~30 mins away from the hotel. Soak in a private wooden barrel filled with hot water and locally harvested seaweed, with views stretching out toward the Cliffs of Moher and the Aran Islands.&nbsp;

Wild Atlantic Seaweed Baths

~35 mins away from the hotel. Home to the longest free-hanging stalactite in the Northern Hemisphere, hidden beneath the Burren landscape.&nbsp;

Doolin Cave

~45 mins away from the hotel. An otherworldly limestone landscape unlike anywhere else in Ireland, dotted with ancient ruins, rare wildflowers, and sweeping coastal views.

~5 mins away from the hotel. A much-loved local pub and restaurant on the main street in Miltown Malby. Great for a casual dinner or a pint by the fire.

Cogans Bar & Restaurant

~10 mins away from the hotel. Everything from Hugo's is made from sourdough, and it has become one of the most talked-about stops on the West Coast. Reviewers routinely call it one of Ireland's best bakeries!

When Should I RSVP By? 

Given that most of our guests are traveling internationally, we encourage you to RSVP as soon as you know if you can make it. Early responses help us plan and, more importantly, mean you can get ahead of flights and accommodations before availability gets tight.

Are Children Welcome? 

Our wedding will be an adults-only celebration. We hope this gives you a chance to enjoy a well-deserved night out! For guests traveling to Ireland with their kids, we are happy to help coordinate local childcare.

Getting to the venue? 

If you are not staying at the hotel, we'll share local taxi recommendations closer to the date for anyone who needs a ride!

Indoors or outdoors?

The ceremony is planned for outdoors, but Spanish Point weather is notoriously unpredictable. We'll have an indoor backup ready and will keep guests informed on the day of. The cocktail hour and reception will be held indoors regardless of the weather.

What's the weather like in West Clare in late May?

Late May in County Clare is mild — expect spring weather with temperatures typically around 60–65°F/15–20°C and the possibility of both sunshine or rain. We'd recommend packing some light layers and, if you're spending time outdoors exploring, a rain jacket. It's Ireland, after all.
